Thriving, flourishing and competing with the global arena, this is the College of Arts and Sciences! Fulfilling dreams since 1982, with its 12 programs branched in two divisions, Arts and Social Sciences Department, and Natural Sciences and Mathematics Department.
It strives to provide advanced instruction in the fields of arts and sciences, produce research-oriented graduates who are able to apply concepts, theories, and principles to current societal issues and problems, develop students imbued with moral values and sense of commitment and provide responsive and empowering community extension services for the development of the people in the countryside and one of the programs offered in the college is Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. It was first introduced to the academic community in 1991 through the initiative of Dr. Rogelio P.Matalang, the first program coordinator of AB Mass Communication. In its initial offering, the program successfully produced 24 pioneer graduates in 1995. Since then, the program has been producing graduates ready to embrace the world of media, broadcasting, journalism and advertising.
The program has always endeavored to create graduates who are creative, innovative, resourceful and ethical professionals practicing free yet responsible mass-communication; graduates with superior ability in broadcasting, journalism, film production, and other related activities; Graduates who are able to utilize theories in their media productions and outputs; and graduates who are prepared to assume managerial positions in media entities and organizations.
